LAN 113 – Chinese I

LAN 113 Elementary Chinese I course is recommended for students who don't know any Chinese. This course aims to offer students basic information on Chinese language and culture by focusing on the basic language structures and vocabulary used in daily life. In addition, Chinese Alphabet and writing systems and various Chinese traditions are introduced. 

• write their names in Chinese alphabet and briefly introduce themselves in Chinese
• read the basic signs written in Chinese alphabet
• use basic vocabulary to express themselves in daily life
• use basic sentence structures
• hold basic and simple conversations in daily life
