LAN 109 –Italian I

LAN 109 is addressed to beginners students whose aim is to achieve the Elementary 1° level (A.1.1, European Common reference level).  It aims to present basic grammatical structures and vocabulary used in daily life. It focuses on developing basic listening and comprehension skills through simple conversation and short compositions about the present and past actions.

On successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  • recognize familiar words and very basic phrases
  • use basic vocabulary needed to express oneself in daily life
  • use basic grammatical structures needed to express oneself in daily life
  • communicate effectively in some daily situations
  • read short texts

LAN 110 –Italian II

LAN 110, as a  continuation of LAN 109, aims to help students improve their competence in using basic structures and vocabulary used in daily life. Listening, writing and reading skills are further developed through conversation, reading and writing short texts about the past, present and future actions.On successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  • use familiar everyday expressions
  • interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly
  • write short, simple paragraphs
  • fill in forms with personal details
  • read and understand longer texts
